AI search readiness
See what your website needs for AI search.
Find pages that are hard to discover, business information that is unclear and customer questions your content leaves unanswered. Cozmo turns the findings into practical changes for you or your web developer.
An audit of your website, not a tracker of AI recommendations.
/services/home-cleaning
The page does not say what the cleaning service includes.
- Current wording
Professional cleaning tailored to your needs.
- Suggested change
- Explain which rooms and tasks are included, and what a customer should agree with you before booking.
What Cozmo looks for
Four ways to make your website more useful.
A customer needs to find the right page and understand what it says. Your audit brings together the technical and content issues that can get in the way.
01
Page access
Links and page settings that help people and search tools find public information.
View an example02
Business details
Clear explanations of the business, product or service.
View an example03
Useful answers
The detail customers need before they buy, book or get in touch.
View an example04
Supporting evidence
Relevant sources, first-hand experience and consistent information.
View an exampleTechnical checks are included in the core audit. AI Enhanced Audit adds a closer review of your content on eligible paid audits.
Inside the report
See the issue. Know what to change.
These fictional examples show how a finding becomes a practical task. Your own report uses the pages Cozmo was able to check.
/services/garden-maintenance
A public service page has an indexing restriction.
The page includes a noindex instruction, although the business intends customers to find this service in search.
- Suggested change
- Ask the website administrator to confirm the page should appear in search before removing the restriction.
- How to check it
- Re-crawl the page to check the instruction. Use the search provider's tools to check indexing separately.
/services/home-cleaning
The page does not say what the cleaning service includes.
Professional cleaning tailored to your needs.
- Suggested change
- Explain which rooms and tasks are included, and what a customer should agree with you before booking.
- How to check it
- Check the wording against the actual service. Ask a new reader what they would expect to receive.
/products/replacement-filter
The product page does not say which models the filter fits.
A replacement filter for your appliance.
- Suggested change
- List the verified compatible models and explain where customers can find their model number.
- How to check it
- Confirm compatibility with your product specialist and check the published list against the source.
/guides/home-insulation
The guide refers to research without identifying the source.
Research shows that this approach saves energy.
- Suggested change
- Identify the relevant research and explain what it supports. Remove the claim if you cannot substantiate it.
- How to check it
- Open the source and check that the study, its setting and its conclusion support the wording.
One audit, different depths
Start with the essentials. Look closer when you need to.
There is no separate GEO scan to set up. Relevant findings appear alongside the rest of your website audit.
Your core audit
Included with Free, within its normal page limit.
- Technical website checks, such as indexing instructions and internal links.
- An AI search summary of relevant findings.
- Website rules for search tools where the audit has usable rules to review.
A deeper content review
Available through eligible paid AI Enhanced Audits.
- Review of how clearly pages explain their subject.
- Missing customer information and supporting evidence.
- Ask Cozmo for help understanding your report, with eligible paid access.
Upgrading does not change a completed report by itself. New findings appear after a new or eligible enhanced review has run.
After the audit
Put the report to work.
Choose a useful improvement, share the task with the right person and check the result.
01 · Choose
Start with an important page.
Use the report’s priorities to find a problem worth fixing. A key service or product page is often a practical place to begin.
02 · Improve
Give the task to the right person.
Share the finding with your developer, or use it to update your own content. Check any suggested wording against your actual business.
03 · Check
Review the change.
Re-crawl to check the website fix. Use platform reports and analytics separately to understand appearances, visits and enquiries.
You may know this as GEO.
Generative engine optimisation, or GEO, is work intended to improve how a business is discovered and represented in AI-generated answers. ScanMySEO focuses on the website changes you can make.
Much of that work overlaps with good SEO: accessible pages, useful information and clear explanations. Google’s guidance does not require a special AI file or markup.
A few useful answers
Questions website owners ask.
Is this different from SEO?
Much of the work overlaps: make public pages easy to find and their information useful. The AI search view brings relevant findings together within your normal website audit.
Does it check whether ChatGPT mentions my business?
No. It checks your website, rather than tracking answers from ChatGPT or other AI services. You can use platform reports and analytics separately to understand appearances and visits.
Do I need to allow AI training?
Search access and AI training are different decisions. For example, OpenAI uses OAI-SearchBot for search and GPTBot for training. Check the provider's current guidance before changing your preferences.
Do I need an llms.txt file?
It is not a requirement or a scored check in ScanMySEO. Google does not require it, or special AI markup, for its generative search features. Other tools may use such files for documentation.
What is included free?
Your Free audit includes technical website checks and the relevant AI search summary within its normal page limit. Paid AI Enhanced Audits add deeper content review. Ask Cozmo is available with eligible paid access.
What should I do first?
Audit your website, choose an important page and start with its highest-priority findings. Check the proposed change with the person who owns the page, then re-crawl to see what changed.
What your report covers.
Each result relates to the pages and information reviewed in that audit. The report shows when a review is partial, unavailable or not included on your plan.
Access checks and content review
A website rule can allow a crawler without proving that the provider visited the page. Cozmo’s access is not the same as another provider’s access. Search rules and training permissions are shown separately.
The main-heading comparison needs both page versions. The business-name check compares suitable declarations for the same organisation. Neither is a full check of every business fact.
What to measure outside the audit
The audit does not track live AI answers, competitor citations, provider indexing or off-site reputation. Use the relevant platform reports for the experiences they cover, and analytics for visits and enquiries. Missing data is not a measured zero.
The website owner can review Search Console’s Search generative AI setting. A public crawl cannot see that private choice.
For local businesses and retailers, also check that your business profiles and product information are accurate. These are owner tasks, not findings from this crawl.
