Connect with your ScanMySEO account. The public directory link is not available here yet. The steps below explain the directory connection journey; publication is separate from account sign-in.
Add ScanMySEO from the directory
When the ScanMySEO listing is available for your account, open it in ChatGPT's Plugins directory, choose Connect, and sign in with your normal ScanMySEO account. The directory button above opens the published listing when it is configured. If no public button is shown, the listing is not yet available from this page.
Review the account and permissions, approve access, then return to ChatGPT. Customers do not need to copy a server address, create an OAuth client, enable Developer mode or enter their subscription limits after adding the published app.
What the connection can do
Review saved audits, discuss priorities, inspect retained page evidence, prepare developer repair briefs and request bounded new audits with the permissions you approve. Available exports and cancellation also require their corresponding permissions. Your existing account allowance applies; connecting creates no extra credits and runs no work.
The consent screen shows the permissions requested for that connection, not the entire product catalogue. A report-reading-only request does not also permit new audits or detailed page-evidence access. If an action needs another permission, approve a fresh request started by ChatGPT. Do not edit an old authorisation URL to add scopes.
Ask your first question
“Show my saved audits, explain which one is useful for this website and open its audit review. Do not start a new audit.”
No saved report yet? Ask for a new audit of your public website. ScanMySEO checks the requested scope, permissions and current allowance before starting.
When connecting does not finish
After approval, ScanMySEO returns you to the registered ChatGPT callback. A publishing portal can then take you back to the app draft. If a Continue button remains on screen, use it once. If ChatGPT reports expiry, restart connection from ChatGPT or the publishing page; do not approve or replay an old form.
An account sign-in is not publication. The publisher verifies and publishes the listing separately; each customer signs in to their own ScanMySEO account. Workspaces can also restrict which directory apps their members can add.

Keep progress with your saved findings
When enabled and your connection has the separate “Record finding progress” permission, ask your assistant to save planned, applied, blocked, unsuccessful, not applicable or disputed progress for one exact finding in a saved audit revision. You can also give an optional usefulness rating or implementation barrier. This is voluntary and costs no scan allowance or AI credits.
Ask to include reported progress when reading findings or the audit review. Your immutable report, findings and health score remain unchanged. “Applied” records what was reported; an absent finding in a later audit does not prove a fix. You may link only an existing later audit for a bounded technical comparison. Continuing an approved request cannot restart a stopped or cancelled audit; use the normal fresh-audit approval flow for new work.
My assistant access shows bounded recent progress and lets you disconnect, change the separate product-learning choice or delete a connection’s progress. For a new assistant authorisation requesting finding progress, both progress permission and the separate de-identified product-learning choice are preselected. Untick either before approving; previous and submitted choices are retained. Existing connections are unchanged. Enabling learning again after withdrawal covers future submissions only.
